Tucson Electric Park (Tucson, AZ)

Photo of Tucson Electric Park

photo taken on June 23, 1999, Tucson Sidewinders vs. Nashville Sounds

Year Opened: 1998

Capacity: 11,000 (1999)

Team: Tucson Sidewinders

League: Pacific Coast League (AAA)

LF: 340

CF: 405

RF: 340

The Good: TEP is a comfortable, state-of-the-art AAA ballpark that is a lot like Victory Field or Franklin Covey Field but without much of a second deck. A concourse wraps all the way around the park, and grassy areas behind the outfield wall offer additional seating for big crowds or a place to stretch out on slower nights. Everything is shiny, new, and modern, including the seating area comprised entirely of individual seats. Various stands offered a good selection of food (including several varieties of freshly-made burritos), and the spacious, air-conditioned souvenir store is a fine place to beat the Arizona heat for a few minutes. Lastly, there's a pleasant view of the mountains beyond the outfield wall.

The Not So Good: Not much at all, except, of course for the fact that it's in Tucson, which can get pretty hot in the summer.
