The Good: Like many 1990s ballparks, Fox Cities Stadium is comfortable, clean, and has a beautiful playing field. Skyboxes, the bane of modern ballparks, are conspicuously absent, though a section with tables and waiter service in the seating area down the third base side offers an interesting alternative to regular seats. And Appleton itself seems like a great place to spend a weekend. Food selection was decent, the bathrooms were spiffy, and prices were okay. I could certainly think of worse places to see a game.

The Not So Good: This place was so generic it's hard to remember specifics. The stadium's away from town, out near a shopping mall. There's also way too much unpainted poured concrete, a look that I find somewhat depressing. Sure it's clean and new, but it's also completely devoid of any individuality, defining characteristics, or sense of place. |
