The Good: One of the few new parks built during the 1970s, Smith-Wills is an unassuming place to watch baseball. A large, angled grandstand with individual seats sits behind home and has a decent-sized concrete roof, while the seating down the lines are metal bleachers. The stadium was efficient and adequate (the bathrooms were clean, and the concession lines were short), but had neither any history or quirks nor modern high-tech gimmickry. What it did have was an enthusiastic (but relatively small) crowd, and a quite pleasant backdrop of huge trees. Not the greatest stadium by a long shot, but certainly not the worst, either.

The Not So Good: Nothing glaring. It's just kind of plain and boring. |
